The Boat

Legendary boat, Gitana 7 is an old racing sailboat from Baron Rothschild team.
Gitana is a "Two Tonner" designed by the famous naval architect German Frers who is the author of a long line of the magnificent Swan Nautor Swedish manufacturer.
Gitana 7 won the Two Ton cup in 1979.
It is an aluminum sloop 42 feet, sturdy hull shape.
It is equipped for circum navigations and can accommodate up to 8 crew.
It has rear of two double cabins and, front, a fixed bunks and three cardanic bunks to sleep while sailing.
Its mast of 18.5 meters backstay with three-storey spreaders used to raise many sails: Reacher mylar, flanker, spinnaker close reach, big spinnaker, genoa as well as several furling genoa that allow more "soft navigation ".


Program

Although this is a very technical and physical boat, all levels are welcome.


Learning

The philosophy of weeks cruising is learning in sea conditions.
We learn at their own pace on the boat, there is no "theoretical" course but an explanation on the spot.
At any time during stopovers or port, events and achievements of the day can be taken and analyzed in a comfortable atmosphere. .

Bleunord does not organize courses for patents, but concentrates on learning to sail the sea.


The skipper

37 years of navigation on the seas of Europe and West Africa, from the Baltic Sea in Cape Verde through Scotland, the Irish Sea and Brittany course. He learned and taught sailing to Glénans. It provides support and quality education, secure and completely relaxed.

Plan:

For septentrionnales navigations

- A sleeping bag.
- Two complete navigation equipment because even in summer, sea nights can be chilly: sweater, under sweater, socks, cap, small towel to wedge in the neck, neoprene gloves.
- A navigation filled jacket, jacket and pants waxed (Cotten style unlined summer), a pair of boots, deck shoes with clear soles (dock-side, basketball sneakers.)

- It's good that you have your own wax but for the weekend, Gitana can provide waxed jacket or pants, do not forget to tell.

For navigations below the 40th parallel

Much more than the Canaries with Gitana in the 30th, the equipment will be significantly reduced.

- A light sleeping bag
- A complete navigation equipment nights are mild in winter and summer: small, lightweight polar sweat, sleeves are appreciated especially when the sun shines, which is the case in 95% of sailing! Provide T-shirts and shorts no need to have a plethora, even if the spray wet, it dries very quickly.

The toiletry bag:
